The Home Inspection Board (“HIB”, “we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us when you visit our website or enroll in our certification program.
Information we collect
We collect information you give us directly — your name, email address, billing address, payment details (processed by Stripe, never stored on our servers), and any information you submit through enrollment or contact forms. We also automatically collect basic technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and pages visited, through standard analytics tools.
How we use it
- To deliver the certification course you purchased — including granting course access, tracking progress, and issuing certificates
- To send transactional emails (receipts, course confirmations, certificate delivery)
- To send marketing emails about HIB courses, updates, and inspector resources — only if you opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To respond to support inquiries
- To improve our site, course, and customer experience
How we protect it
Payment processing is handled by Stripe, an industry-leading PCI-DSS-compliant payment processor. We never see or store your full card number. Account passwords are hashed using one-way encryption. We use SSL/TLS encryption on all pages.
Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We share limited information only with the service providers we use to operate this site and course (web hosting, email delivery, payment processing, analytics) — and only as needed for those services to function. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect our rights and the safety of our users.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time. Email us at inspectready32@gmail.com. Note that we may need to retain certain records (purchase history, certification status) for legal and accounting purposes.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember your course progress, and analyze site traffic. You can disable cookies in your browser, but doing so will prevent you from completing the course (course progress tracking requires login).
